New Toys

The only new toys for two old people...mean WORK. :)
I get to clean the carpet and Ron gets to trim trees. Remember, I don't touch his job, outside. And he doesn't touch my job, inside- lol.

Pre School at the Simms

I also had to go grab this photo from Annie. I love it too. She does an awesome job of pre school with Weston and Savie. Always super cute ideas, crafts, food, activities, and books. Those kids are going to be so smart when they start school!

New Toy

Eli and Noah got a new toy for Christmas, that looks like it might "live" at our house :) Eli was so cute driving it around and he and papa had races- him in his red car and Noah and Papa on the mule. Everything was going great until Noah drove it and ran into Sam's car- haha.

Oh Deer!

We are still enjoying the deer that come to our yard. Ron and I usually have breakfast in the dining room and we get to watch the deer come for corn and bird seed, each morning. We have also had lots of small brown birds. I guess the turkeys were back for Christmas, but we haven't seen them since.

Trees and Rocks

Here is what our yard looks like in mid January. Ron has been planting trees the past couple of weeks. We have very little top soil. You only have to dig a few inches to hit rock. We knew it was a good idea to build our house on a rock...but do you think trees will grow on a rock?? :) Ron was also careful to get everything mowed and trimmed a few weeks ago...much better than the tall grass. We are thinking that he might mow again in a few weeks and then when the wild flowers come up, they won't get lost in the grass. As you can snow here. Now if the cedar pollen would go away, life would be good.

No Snow in Bandera

Part of the reason we stayed in Texas was because there is no snow in Bandera in the winter. We have had a few cold days and a couple of freezes, but no snow. I kept my snowmen decor out, but will soon put it away and get out Valentines stuff :) But this is as close as we get to "snow".

January 2016- Primary Stuff

We got back home from Utah on Thursday evening, Dec.31. We spent new years day, just at home, trying to get back to normal :) On Saturday morning we went to Kerrville to help clean the church and I did the bulletin boards for primary. Then we went to What A Burger for lunch, then picked up a few groceries at HEB. (Ron actually walked through the grocery store with me- ha) Here are a few pics of my primary stuff for 2016. I may actually put some new things on the boards soon, but this at least got us started for the new year.

December 28-31, 2015

On Monday, we just hung around the house with the kids. Daniel went to work and to the dentist. Late afternoon, Ashley and I went to Wal Mart. Maybe not the best choice for an outing...but good to get Ash out of the house ;) I fixed dinner and we had a brief FHE with the Christmas story paper chain activity that I took with us. Mike and Carrie met the Christiansens in downtown SLC for dinner and temple square on Monday evening. If we had planned ahead better, I would have liked to do that. (I had to go grab pics from FB) On Tuesday afternoon we took the kids to a "Jump" place. Tuesday afternoon, Ashley had a photographer come and take photos of Hazel. Then we all went to Chilis for dinner...even Ashley and Hazel. (It was just barely snowing and really cold.) The kids loved the table top tablets in Chilis with games on them. Wednesday was our last full day there. I helped clean up the house, do laundry, and put Christmas away. I also repaired one of the the folding sofa mats (downstairs). Ron shoveled snow a couple of times that day. I went and bought subway sandwiches for lunch. Jaden spent some time with his friends in the afternoon and evening. Daniel went to work that day and then in the evening, he and Ron went to basketball at the church. On Thursday, December 31st, we left Smithfield about 8:30 am. We left a bit early, so that we could meet the Christiansens before going to the airport. They met us for brunch at a Taco Bell near the airport. (not exactly our favorite fast food, but handy) We hung around there for a couple of hours with them. Then they had some other errands and/or shopping to do- Micah basically had that day off from work. In the afternoon our travels were perfect again. No problem checking the rental car back in, got through security quick, flight was slightly early, bags quick, and Aud there in the mustang to pick us up. Then we went to a pizza restaurant, called "Dough" for dinner. Sam and the boys met us there. Fun evening with them. (I grabbed internet pics for Taco Bell and Dough) We arrived home about 9 pm. I unpacked and did "stuff" until midnight and then went to bed. No... New Years celebration- ha.  But very glad to be back home and in my own bed :) I am done with 2015- Happy New Year- now I can print my book :)

First outing to Chilis :)

This is what happens to your eyes when playing video games :)

I guess Mom's eyes have the same problem, from "watching" the kids play video games :)

Who needs toys for Christmas...when you have BOXES??

Eli and Noah got to make their own pizza. Eli ate ALL of his :)
One last pic of baby Hazel...after all this trip was all about her.
