To Utah in July
On July 27, we flew to Salt Lake City and then drove to Smithfield for a long weekend with the Petes. Our 7:30 am flight turned into a 1:30 pm flight. So... we got to sit in the San Antonio airport all morning... after getting up in the middle of the night for an early flight- lol. The main event for the weekend was Hailey's baptism. (I decided that rather than one long post...I would do 3 shorter ones.) We arrived Thursday evening and met the Simms and Ashley at a Mexican restaurant for dinner. (The Pete kids and Daniel, were at an activity with the Andersons.) I guess, by the time I was looking for a rental car, all of the prices were high and I ended up getting a "premium car". One of the four choices on that was a convertible Mustang... so that, of course, was what we took :) The only reason I would have reserved a premium car was if the price was about the same as a small compact, that I would normally have gotten- lol. Anyway... having that car made for a fun "date" weekend for us. The grand kids all took turns riding in it. The plan for Friday evening was a picnic and games at a park in Logan. It turned out to be a great evening and a great idea for dinner for everyone. On our side of the family there was us, the Andersons, the Simms, and the Christiansens. Add to that lots of Daniel's family, including parents, brothers, his sister and kids. There was about 50 of us... give or take a few :)
