Aaron and Darby took, her mom, Evamay, Aaron's daughter, and their three boys to Colorado. I am sure that they... especially Evamay was wanting some "mountain time". Here are a few pics that they posted on Facebook. The picture with Cris in it was from a different time. Alldays children are "yours, mine, and ours". Their three littlest boys are the "ours"... super cute.
I think we will be praying for an "Elder Simms", for many years. Jared got his mission call recently. I just grabbed two things from Annie's blog. We have a trip planned in August, because both Elder Simms will be speaking in church on August 11. I was hoping for a time when Nathan would be home, and Jared hadn't left yet. My prayers were answered.
"The end of April, Jared received his mission call to the Asuncion Paraguay mission. He starts on August 12th at home for a week and then heads to the Missionary Training Center in Peru on August 20th or 21st. We're so grateful that (1) he got called to South America, where he hoped to serve and (2) his start date is after Nathan gets home from his mission. Jared put his availability date as the middle of July, hoping that would make way for a potential August start date (assuming that he would start about a month or so after his availability, as often happens with the mission calls). Jared wanted to see Nathan, but he also wanted to get back from his mission in time to start a fall semester of college. Jared got accepted and will head to BYU in fall 2026. Nathan returns on July 30th, so they will get to see each other for a short time. Anyway, it worked out just perfect."
Sometimes, it doesn't take much to make me happy. In fact, sometimes it's just some little things 😉 Like I finally found a non-aluminum deodorant that I love. (From "Bubble and Bee".) My favorite lipsticks come from "Color the World". I have some cute items on my desk. It has been really hot here lately, but I can just hang out in my sewing room- lol. We paid the neighbor to take out some grass and put in rocks, in our front yard. I made some new items for Brown Baby Bird... some mini teether blankets. Everything else here is just cute pics from the internet.
Just a few quick pics from Annie. Looks like Alex likes candy and cookies. The video that she posted also had him reading a card from Jared. Savie had to help him finish reading it... he was having a "Dad moment". We are so grateful for Alex and his service as bishop. They are raising some great missionaries at that house.
Alison said that Father's Day for Micah was somewhat hard, but he had a pretty good day. Dallin spoke in their sacrament meeting about "Dads". Al posted some great pics... here you go.
The first picture is what I posted on Facebook, saying... "Our family has been blessed with some amazing men... Happy Fathers Day." The next pics are from dinner with the Petes. (Andersons took off for Utah right after church on Fathers Day. The boys were excited to go to the "fun Grandma's" house- lol. So it was just us and the Petes for dinner.) If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach... Ashley and I had that covered. I made a tri tip roast, shrimp cocktail, cookies and ice cream. She made potatoes, and salad and Hailey made a fruit tray. Audrey posted some funny pics of Ron, saying "Happy Father’s Day, Papa!! Cheers to the guy who always says “YES” to the insanity! We love you!
I was especially missing my Dad for Fathers Day this year. I don't know exactly why it hit me so hard this year. My favorite picture of him is one of him out in a small boat on the lake at Reubens ranch. (I couldn't find that picture easily.)
Alison shared a little video on GroupMe of a peanut butter, ketchup, pickle sandwich and a can of Coke. Most of us know what that story is- lol 😜
Annie and Mike both called and talked to Ron on Sunday evening. Alison tried to call... but the line was busy- lol 😏
