Happy Birthday, Eli

Eli had a birthday this month. Things were busy for Sam and Audrey, the week of his birthday... so no party that day. I think he got some fun food and maybe dinner out on his birthday, but I couldn't find any pics. For Sunday dinner on March 14, I made a giant birthday cookie. Then on Saturday, March 20, there was a "Main Event" party for him. He asked me to make cupcakes for that. Then for Sunday dinner yesterday, I made an ice cream sandwich cake. (sorry no pics of that) And we decided that was an "Anniversary Cake" for Sam and Audrey, since they both forgot it was their anniversary- lol.

Hailey and Brown Baby Bird

I have been hoping that Hailey would be interested in helping me with my Brown Baby Bird stuff. She met me at JoAnns and picked out some new fabric, for taggies, to go with some white bunnies. Then last weekend, while they were gone camping, I sewed the blankets up. On Thursday, she came over and I showed her how to package them up, to be ready to go to The Shops of Bandera. I think, she is interested in helping me. She loves being creative! Here is how the taggies turned out. One of the fabrics is called Bunny Patch, and the other one is called Floppy Garden.

Change

Several people at church today talked about "change". The world has gone through a great amount of change during the past year. Families have changed. Communities have changed. Church services and missionary work have changed. Sometimes we view change as bad and sometimes we view change as good. Change because of repentance is good. Change usually gives us a new perspective. Our life has also changed because of selling the Bandera house and moving. I view that change as good, while that change has been a struggle for Ron. It takes him longer to adjust to changes. The first month we were here, he had trouble remembering how to get to the house and how to get to Audrey's and Ashley's house. He doesn't go very many places, so it is a slow process for him to learn where we are. It is a simple drive to church now... he has that figured out ;) When he got all of the boxes of books unpacked, he said "we were done unpacking". In reality, I had lots of work unpacking everything else- haha. Now, the house is mostly done, still work to do in the garage and storage unit. I had a pretty good idea in my mind, before we moved, where most of the furniture would go. I spent a great deal of time thinking about that before we moved and deciding what to get rid of and what we were moving. A few items ended up in a different place than I expected, but most went right where I had planned. Then while unpacking I would put smaller items where I thought made sense, then of course, as I actually use things and "live in" various rooms... a few things found a better place to stay, that was more useful. For the most part things have "settled". Daniel is still working on trim, baseboards, shiplap, and bead board, but getting close to being done. Then I will only have cabinets to paint. I am posting pics... mostly of the house. Things are "changing" pretty well here. The cats are getting used to each other. I found a dark grey bedspread for our bed. We hung a small, folding, white table in the laundry room. I bought a side cabinet for the dining room. (It is the perfect size for what I needed... but it was supposed to be black instead of dark brown. And the is the last piece of furniture that Ron is ever putting together- lol. He had trouble with it.) I was telling a friend that we are in a normal, inexpensive, suburbia house ... which is what we need right now.
