Back to School Christiansens

Here is what Alison posted on Facebook about the kids starting a new school year. They are still doing school at home.

Dallin

He's our oldest and is excited to start into Homeschool High School. He gets to do Seminary, Engineering, Geometry, Foundations of Freedom, Foods for Life, and Outdoor Nature Survival Skills. He is also very excited to do Drivers Ed next semester! And of course, he loves mountain biking! He took 7th in his category at the first race of this season. Excited to see how he does at the next one. This kid is so creative and talented and he does not disappoint!

Emmy

This girl is on fire!!! She took 2nd in her first race of this mountain biking season!  She is also excited for another year of learning. She'll be taking Watercolor Joy, Geometry, Anatomy, Health & Wellness, Foundations of Freedom, and Outdoor Nature Survival Skills.  She is self-motivated, organized, and creative. She loves kids and dogs. And she's definitely got a bright future ahead!

Evelyn

She is determined! Even after breaking her finger during the summer, she did not miss a gymnastics practice. She is competing at a higher level this year and she couldn't be more thrilled. She is excited to delve into Hand Lettering and Watercolor. She'll also have Health & Wellness and Anatomy. She is generous and sweet and also muscular and graceful. Excited to see what she accomplishes this year!

Ashton

This kid is hilarious and easy going! He is most excited for his own Craftsmanship class this year. And lots of fun reading, science, math, and art at home. He keeps life fun! But he will surprise you out of the blue with something really wise to say. He loves biking, 4 wheeling, trampoline, and creating things from random cardboard boxes. So grateful for this kid!

Eden

This girl is a ball of love, energy, demands, and fun! She loves her siblings even though she's constantly getting into arguments. She is a natural at both Tumbling and Cheer! She has several children's books memorized and can read them to you start to finish in her sweet little voice, and she loves to snuggle and hug. I appreciate her honesty and how she will tell you just how it is! My little heart breaker. πŸ’•

Annie and Alex Celebrating 25 Years

2025 means Annie and Alex have been married for 25 years. Their anniversary was in August, but they went on a little trip in June. Nathan was home to help with the other kids. Here is what they posted on Facebook and then a few pics. They are experts on the "two person selfies". 😎😎

Annie-

"I should add some of my favorite photos from our recent trip to Italy and the country of Georgia, since Alex just posted some.  Celebrating 25 years! ❤️ We spent 2 days in Rome, 4 days in Venice, 1 day in Milan, Italy. We spent 5 days in Georgia πŸ‡¬πŸ‡ͺ - Tbilisi, Kazbegi (Juta), Kutaisi, and Mestia / Ushguli. Driving in Georgia was pretty crazy!"

Alex-

"Later this summer Annie and I will celebrate 25 years together.  To celebrate she joined me on a work trip to Venice a couple weeks ago, which we coupled with a week in the country of Georgia.  Georgia was such a beautiful place.  Here is to 25 more years together."

Sewing Projects

I have been super busy with sewing alteration orders for a couple of weeks now. I decided that was my own fault, because when I moved into Alamo Craft Company on the first of August, I said a couple of prayers asking for enough money to pay for that, for the next 6 months. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ Needless to say, good money has been coming in- lol. Here are a few pics of the more creative orders that I have done. I have also had several "just hemming" orders. These are the more difficult ones. Then the last pic is just of me working in my hat. I had to have a pilar cyst removed from my scalp. The hat was keeping a wad of gauze in place on that wound. I get some stitches out on August 24. Pics- Added some sheer sleeves to a blouse. Put a three-point bustle on a huge Quinceanera, that was covered with glitter. That dress was truly a nightmare. πŸ˜πŸ˜–Hemmed and adjusted the halter strap on a sequin covered dress. Added a back panel to a lace up back dress. (And adjusted the front bust pads. The panel was simple and turned out beautiful... those bust pads were another story. haha) I also made some small curtains for a ladies classroom.

Ron's Flower Garden

Here is what the flower garden looks like for July. The blue bonnets and still blooming. We may be overrun with those next year. And here is a picture of his most recent "puzzle project". Petes gave him that puzzle for Father's Day. I don't think it was as difficult as the last two. (I had to make a new table board for that because of the size. I couldn't purchase the correct size from Amazon.)

Golden Birthday for Hailey

Growing up and when our kids were growing up, we never knew anything about a "Golden Birthday". Mine, for instance, would have been on my 8th birthday. A Golden Birthday is when your age is the same number as your birth day. So, Hailey turned 16 on July 16. She had been planning an exciting trip for over a year for that birthday. We did a little family dinner on the first Sunday in July, with her requests for dinner food and cake. My cake looked pretty good but wasn't the best texture that I have ever made. Then from the 13th until the 24th, Mason and Hazel were with us or Andersons. Finn was with us the whole time and Hailey, Ashley, and Daniel went to the Virgin Islands. While Mason and Hazel were with us, Ron did a little soccer camp with them each day. They did some painting projects. And got way more screen time than normal- lol πŸ˜πŸ˜‚Kitty and Gracie had to spend that whole time in our bedroom and bathroom to keep Finn out of their "stuff", and to keep them from being too stressed out over the dog in the house. Here are pictures from that Sunday dinner and pictures that Ashley shared on her FB story. Happy Birthday, to beautiful Hailey.

Cougar Ranch

I have a couple of pictures from the Cougar Ranch with Andersons and Christiansens. They met there about the third week of June. Everything was pretty good there until Ashton decided to "jump on the bed" and need stitches in his head πŸ˜•πŸ˜œ

Savie Finishing Up School

Here are a few pics of Savie finishing up school for Spring 2025. (I think the last pic might be from Weston's patriarchal blessing day.)

Summer Decor

As soon as we got back from Tooele, I got out my Fourth of July decor. Then after July 4th, I got out my Bees/Sunflowers and Beach decor. (Which was a good combination.) I have never had a very good plan for August/September... but I have a plan for this year. Mushrooms are coming πŸ˜‰ That was based on a new table runner for my under-the-TV cabinet. And I ordered some new fabric for my entry area. Of course, pics to come later.
