Making Up Stuff

LOL- now I feel like I am making up stuff to blog about. It's not very often that I am caught up on my blogging. I made my blog book for last year, but I have been waiting for a discount coupon to show up in my email. It doesn't look like that is going to happen... I might have to just go ahead and order it. 😐😉

The Petes left on Friday to go to Galveston, to leave on a cruise yesterday morning. They will be gone until next Thursday. Finn is staying with us. Which means that "scaredy cat" Gracie is totally freaked out. We moved her stuff (cat box, food, and water to the master bathroom upstairs). We are lucky to see her a couple times a day. The Pete kids were super excited to go do a fun trip as a family... they don't get that very often. The third pic is what Gracie looks like, only she is saying, "Don't go downstairs. There is a dog there!" 👿

I have been "making up" a few items... sewing that is 😉 I ordered three shipments of stuffed animals from Ebba and Aurora for Brown Baby Bird. A few of those items I was able to make "sets" with some ribbon blankets that I already have. I still have tons of ideas and other sets to make, but that will be a gradual process and might last longer than 2023.

One sewing project that I have been working on since December for a customer is that I made a pattern from a dress that she loved, and I have been making more dresses like that one from other fabric. I will post a couple of those pics. I love working with the stretch fabric that she purchased, and the pattern is actually easy to cut out and sew up. (I have another customer that wanted me to do that same idea only with a blouse and a skirt. We haven't seen how well those turn yet.)

For our primary class lesson today, we talked about 8 scripture verses from the Sermon on the Mount. I will post a picture of the handout page that I did. It is a super condensed version of the lesson. We did a matching game... matching a picture, a scripture verse, and an explanation of the scripture verse. It turned out pretty well.

For dinner tonight, I am "making up" beef stew. I have the meat in the pan simmering, and I will add mushrooms, carrot, and potatoes soon. Since the Petes are gone and Andersons are busy, it will just be "dinner-for-two" this evening. So it is a rather simple Sunday for us. 😉😏

BDay "69"

Sam and Audrey were still in Brazil on Ron's birthday. (I should have done this post before the last one) Petes went to Outback Steakhouse with us on Ron's birthday. That is one of his favorite places to eat and we had a couple of gift cards from our Visa points, that covered about half of the tab. It was Jaden's first week at a new job and he had to work until 5pm that day. Ron and I got there about 5:15 and the Petes arrived about 5:35. Hazel was at a friend's house, but everyone else was there. We sure are lucky to spend so much time with their family.  Ashley got a couple of pics.

A BDay Cake and a BDay Pie

On Sunday, Feb. 19, we hosted dinner at our house. Andersons were coming from Austin, so they didn't have any food assignment. Ashley and I took care of dinner. This was our only time to celebrate Audrey and Ron's birthdays together. I made a lemon pie and a lemon cake. They "looked" pretty good but the taste and texture was not great 😏😞We had baked potatoes (white and sweet), toppings, salad, mixed veggies, fruit salad, and ham. And of course, a pie and a cake and ice cream for dessert. At least we had something to put candles in- lol. 😋 BTW... 40 years and 69 years.

Thompson Pics

Here are four recent, great pics from Mike, Carrie, Nick, and Ryan.

Simms Valentines

Here are a few cute pics that I grabbed from Annie's fb page. Valentines at the Simms.

Valentine Month

Here is my February decor and a few pics from Valentines Day. I made a special dinner with all of Ron's favorite foods. Beef ribs, baked potato, corn on the cobb, salad, and cherry pie. We each got a new pair of shoes. I was actually surprised that Ron liked his and he threw away his worn-out pair- lol. The pie was one of the best ones I have ever made 😀I made Ashley a Valentine card using some old and new pics of the kids. The red heart suckers were from Enolas wedding reception in 2011.
