Kitchen Update

We got the new ceiling lights, counter tops, and sink for the kitchen last Fall, but it was recently when I figured out that I had some "before and after" pictures. I did a Facebook post with two of the pics. I was surprised at how many people saw that and even more surprised at how many comments I got. Most of them loved it. One guy gave me suggestions on what else to do and my new friend from Colorado commented about how much she loved black or black stainless appliances vs my white ones πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ƒHere is what I wrote in my post-

Most of the time I consider our house to be a generic suburbia home. Not much "character" here. I always wanted an old farmhouse, with lots of character... but sadly that is not to be. I did get my kitchen slightly remodeled, which helps my discontentment somewhat- lol. (and actually, at the very beginning when we moved in the appliances were black those had to be replaced right away- lol. Oh and the nasty linoleum floor had to go before we moved in.)

here are a few pics-

50 Years

I forgot to do a post about our wedding anniversary in May... 50 years. That is amazing in more ways than one- lol. Just saying "50 years" makes us both old. I didn't really care if we did anything special, I would have been just as happy to go to my sewing room, but I felt like Ron needed to get out of the house. He suggested that we go to Palacios, he wanted to go to a particular restaurant there for peel and eat shrimp. I wasn't very excited about his idea, so I started hunting for something else. We ended up at Lake Travis, at a condo at Lake Travis Island Villa. It was certainly "off season" there, which meant very few people. We drove up there on Thursday afternoon and had dinner at the resort at the "Island Bar and Grill". I had a perfect crab cake sandwich and coconut pie. (The pie was okay, but not the best I have ever had.) On Friday we had lunch at Captain Pete's. That is a floating restaurant. Ron got some peel and eat shrimp there. I got a salad and lime pie. (That pie was good, but pretty small for the price.) So... it was a quick trip, just one night... but at least we did something πŸ˜€

June is for the Birds

I also love my bird collection. I decided that it needed it's own month.

Beach Decor

My other May decor was my "beach collection". I love it and I needed to figure out what month it belonged to. - lol πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŽSo May it is and only enough stuff for my kitchen eating area cabinet and wall shelf.

Ashleys Birthday and Mothers Day

Ashley's birthday and Mother's Day were just one day apart this year. On Saturday, May 9, Audrey, Ashley, Hailey, and I went out for lunch. On Sunday, was dinner at Andersons. Mother's Day dinner for me and birthday dessert for Ashley. Here are a few pics of both meals and a few pics that Ashley shared online.
