Finishing Up July

I think I am finished with July posts. The first picture here is of the mattress that I purchased on Amazon's Prime Sale days. It is hard to tell the difference between the gray mattress and my gray bedspread. I am still debating whether I like it or not. I am not in love with it, and I figured if Ron didn't like it, I would get my money back and if he did like it, we would keep it. He doesn't have a strong opinion either. I like the way it looks. Our other mattress was probably 12 years old and had dents in it. I need to figure out how to get rid of it now 😉. Our other excitement for the month was when our air conditioner stopped working. That is a serious situation when it is over 100 degrees outside. Luckily, we only had one miserable night, where neither one of us slept very well and one hot Sunday, where we went to the Pete house a bit early for dinner. Later that evening I tried turning the air conditioner back on and it worked. I got a company to come and look at our system on Monday morning. And we actually spent some money that day for a couple of replacement parts on the outside unit. Another gentleman came on Tuesday morning. And another one on Wednesday evening. We are going to go ahead and replace the system. One description of the situation is like, "We are driving a car with 300,000 miles on it... it could quit at any time." Since the system is actually functioning, we don't have to be in an emergency replacement. I am waiting for one of the gentlemen to call me back with exactly what unit he could get soon, and an updated price. Today was one of those days where I didn't really have "a plan"... I did laundry, I put away the 4th of July decor, I finished up these blog posts, and I have some fun Brown Baby Bird ribbon blankets to start working on. (I can't call them "taggies" anymore.) I purchased a super cute brown dog from Ebba, to go with a dog fabric. And someone requested a Winnie the Pooh theme, so I picked up a couple of cute fabrics for that. We are going to have a record number of 100+ degree days this year. Ron and I hardly go outside at all. Good thing I have plenty of things to do inside. I will do another post soon with some finished blankets and my "sunflower decor". I also have lots of clothing alterations to do for Sam and Audrey.

Jaxon #95

Here is a post that I have never done before. Enola and Cris' son Jaxon drove for his first time in a car race. He is eight and has a smaller version of the car that his dad drives. The first picture is of the full-size car that Cris drives. I don't know any other details, but here are a few pics that Enola and Angela shared. There is a good picture of John with him, too.

It's a Cat's Life

Throwing in a few cat pics... with 1 dog for 1 day. There was a Friday/Saturday where the Petes went to the coast and Finn came to our house. The cats didn't know what to think of him- lol 😂 I will start with those pics and then the rest are just "napping cats". It is usually very boring and quiet at our house... perfect napping weather- haha. Having Finn here got Ron outside more than usual.

SMILES

Just a few random pics, in random order, of smiling faces.

Weston and Hailey Birthdays

Here are pictures from Weston and Hailey's birthdays this month. Hailey turned 13 and Weston turned 12. Annie shared pics on GroupMe, Alex shared a couple on Facebook, Ashley shared a couple on Instagram, and I took the rest. Plus, an old post on Facebook popped up of another birthday for Hailey. Ashley tried to discourage me from buying any clothing for Hailey... but I actually did okay with what I bought 😉 And she got a Circut that she wanted. We also gave her a Target card. I made a white chocolate, raspberry cheesecake that turned out great. Weston had a kickball party with friends. The Petes went to the beach with some other families... exactly how Hailey would love to spend her birthday.

Where is Waldo 3- Andersons

Andersons went on an Alaska cruise, with Sam's mom. They were gone for a week. Audrey shared pics on GroupMe after they got back. Looks like the cruise had roller skating, indoor pool, a bionic bar for drinks, a rock-climbing wall, Brazilian dance classes, ping pong table, bumper cars, air hockey table, and I am sure much more. A few other activities that they did was whale watching in Juneau, watching bald eagles in Sitka, a seaplane ride over the Misty Fjords in Ketchikan, hike along creek street in Ketchikan, a lumberjack show, and some of the pics are from Seattle. Looks like this was an amazing trip with plenty to keep everyone busy. The last picture is from a previous cruise that they went on with Sam's mom, before Luke was born 😉
