Our Little Corner of the World

Our house is right on a corner of two streets. The house across the street and then the three houses to the east of us and ours, make a pretty good Christmas light "corner". I tried taking pics from one of our upstairs windows and they didn't turn out very good... so I went outside and stood in the street and got some better ones. I love Christmas lights. I tried to put out several strings of lights inside the house too. The lights make the world pretty magical.

This and That

The first picture is what our TV room upstairs looks like. Then the little centerpieces that I made for our Christmas dinner. I didn't do much, because everything will get lost in food and 27 people. Then a small gift bag that arrived from Mike and Carrie. Then a birthday gift for Owen. When we were in Yosemite, one of the gift shops there had a water bottle that he wanted, but they didn't get it. When they went back for it, the store was closed, or the bottle was gone, or something. Audrey hunted all over online to try to find it and couldn't. She finally had a Yeti bottle made for him. "Go Climb a Rock".

Fun with the Simms in Texas

The Andersons, Petes, and Simms have packed alot into a few days this week, including a service project at Salvation Army, visiting the Alamo and the River Walk. Plus games at the church and the soccer field, and then Sea World. The adults go a dinner date at Whiskey Cake and the kids played games with pizza at our house. Here are a few pics.

Happy Birthday to Savannah

Today we celebrated Savannah's birthday, with a party at Andersons. One of the things she likes is "Calico Critters". Audrey based the theme of the party from a Hedgehog set of those critters. They got her that set and they also got her a big play set for those critters. I got her a diamond art set,a puzzle, and stickers.  Petes gave her a Lego set. We painted rocks to go hide around Alamo Ranch as part of the "Alamo Ranch Rocks" event. Savie and I made a small cake and cupcakes this morning. Annie wanted to make "frog eye salad" but she couldn't find the right pasta at any store here. She used shell macaroni instead. It had the same flavor, just not the same texture. Sam cooked roast, potatoes and carrots. I took sandwich buns, pickles and barbeque sauce for sandwiches. Ashley brought veggies, dip, and chips. It was a fun activity, to celebrate Savannah. (I added a few pics on to the end of this post, that I grabbed from Ashley- kind of duplicates, but I wanted to include them.)
