Saturday... Soccer Games and Boating

Saturday, May 7, all of the kids had soccer games on the schedule and... it was HOT. Annie and Ron made it through all of the games. I watched Jaden's game and did a couple of errands, like go pick up a birthday cake for Sunday. Saturday afternoon, the Christiansens went to Lake Medina with Andersons to go out on the boat. For dinner that day Ron, Annie, and I , and the Petes met Andersons and Christiansens at What aBurger. Friday = Sea World

On Thursday, Christiansens just spent the day with us, at home. Alison and I took the girls shopping for a couple of hours, but mostly we were just home, getting settled in. After I picked them up from the airport on Wednesday evening, we had dinner at our house and then they went to the Petes to surprise them. For about a week, I had been asking questions to Petes and Andersons about their schedule from May 4-11. I think they were starting to get suspicious that something was up. Ashley and her kids usually do "outings and activities " on Fridays and Mondays are her "recover from the weekend" day. I had told her to keep Friday and Monday "open". I had given Hailey and Jaden a "heads up" to help clean up the house after soccer practice on Wednesday evening. On Friday, Christiansens and Petes went to Sea World together. I think most of the pics in this post were from Ashley. Sea world is only about 10 minutes from our house and Petes and Andersons both have family passes. Dinner was our house again on Friday evening after a whole day of fun. I went and picked Annie up from the airport about 11:30 pm. (I went and picked up a rental car on Friday morning and kept it until Monday morning. That made a huge difference in what we could do on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.)

Christiansen Surprise

 We had known for a couple of months that the Christiansens were coming here to stay with us for a week. They wanted us to keep that secret from Andersons and Petes, so it could be a surprise for them. That was a difficult request 😉 They arrived on Wednesday, May 4 and left on Wednesday, May 11. So, right in the middle of that trip was Mother's Day and Ashley's birthday. I will do several post to cover all of the events that we tried to pack into that week. Also a couple of weeks before that, I realized that it would be fun to have Annie here too... at least for the weekend. She got here on Friday evening and left on Monday evening. Alison, Micah, and Eden got the guest bedroom. Emmy, Dallin, Evie, Ashton slept in the TV room upstairs. (two sofas and two air mattresses.) Annie slept on an air mattress in our room a couple of nights and then on the downstairs sofa, one night. Our other problem was only having one vehicle. I rented a car for the weekend so that Christiansens could have whatever schedule they wanted with the suburban. Here are some Christiansen pics that they took by our front door on Mothers Day.

A Cat's Life

 Finishing up blogging for April with some cute cat pics. I think Alison called the ones of Eden... "A Girl and Her Cat". Last one is "just Gracie" 😉😸 Ron came upstairs this morning from doing his normal "cat chores" and said... "Kitty is the only smart one around here. She got up, ate, and went back to bed." That reminded me of a post I shared on Facebook recently. It said, "When you are a kid, you want to be a teenager. When you are a teenager, you want to be an adult. When you are an adult, you want to be a cat". lol 😂
