Besides going to Whataburger for lunch on our anniversary, we had another "quick trip" planned this month. We have some friends that we hadn't seen for a long time, that live just north of Dallas. They agreed to meet us in Waco, which was about halfway for both of us. (Just a bit longer for us.) We met them there at 4pm on a Wednesday, we went out for dinner, spent one night there, went out for lunch on Thursday and went to the Mammoth National Park. I also did a quick stop at the Magnolia Market. (At that point Ron got a coke and his book and sat out in the courtyard, while I went in. I already knew what I wanted in there and it wasn't as spectacular as I expected.) Traffic coming back home for us was bad. We got back to the west side of San Antonio by about 8pm. We stopped at Whataburger and we were home by 8:30. (Ron claimed that he had to drive for two days, just to go to Whataburger. haha 😬) It was a great little "reconnect" with our friends. We probably could have spent a couple of more days and still talked nonstop with them. 😜I didn't take very many pics. I got a picture of the house that we stayed in and a couple of the Magnolia Market from the web, I took a few pics at the Mammoth Park and a few flower pics at Magnolia. (one picture is a river restaurant that we saw, but we didn't go to.)

Brown Baby Bird Sale
The last time I went to take care of my booth at Homestead Handcrafts, I took a few pictures there. I love that store and love seeing all of the cute items from other vendors. I also put everything in my booth on sale. They had a big "sidewalk sale" there on May 20, so I went in there on the 19th and put everything on sale for a month. Sales have been pretty slow there. It's a good thing that I have other money coming in from doing clothing alterations. That is what keeps this BBB habit alive 😉😏 I watched and listened to an Etsy seminar. I could do some more work there on my "tags and key words". That is also slow-going getting people to that shop. Anyway... not making a profit, but staying about even. My tax return always shows a loss by the time I claim house expenses and mileage.
Walking
Since last September, I have been trying to go out walking for an hour a day, five days a week. I can't go very fast, so I think that time is about 2 miles. Some days, my feet don't hurt at all, other days they do. The thing holding me up a little lately is when my right knee does something "funky". 😉😐I am really surprised that I haven't been able to loose any weight since starting that. I am trying to figure out how to add some more exercise to my daily routine. Ron bought me a bike recently, maybe that will be my extra exercise?? My normal walking time is from 8:30-9:30 am. On school days, before 8:30 there is too much car, bus, kid traffic in the neighborhood. I realized that in a few days, when school is out for the summer, I won't necessarily need that time frame. In fact, I could go a bit earlier, when the temp is cooler. I actually do the best when it is between 50 and 70 degrees. The other day I took a few pics of some of my walking route. Just around an average neighborhood. I have to say... my 2 miles plus, out in Bandera was more scenic. 😎 Here, I get to see all of the yard decor, yard landscape, the cars, and sometimes the inside of the garages. Nothing very interesting in those things- lol. The last five pics are coming down the street toward our house and the front door. I have a cute green and purple wreath out right now. lol

House Pics
I took a few recent house pics. Just sharing these for memories of how it is May 2023. I am still hoping to get Daniel to take the carpet out of my sewing room soon. Since we got the storage shed and could clean out the garage... Jaden has been painting it and will do an epoxy floor in there. I will do another post with pics of that... this is only the inside of the house. I will also do another post with a couple of outside pics. The other day, I took a few pics when I was out walking. Mainly to see some of my walking route but also a couple of pics of the house. Our house is not fancy... but it is "enough".
Seventeen and Sixteen
Jared turned 17 this month and Nick turned 16. They are growing up way too fast and we are getting "old"- lol 😏😕😎
Christiansen SMILES
A few recent pics from Christiansen girls. Lots of happy faces. I'm sure life isn't always smiles... but these pics are.
