My Birthday

Okay... since I have a few pics... here are some more details on my birthday. On Sunday, Sep. 1, the Petes were at our house for dinner, and they were pressuring me to come up with some birthday food/activity ideas. I finally gave in and said, "steak and shrimp and white choc/raspberry cake" for dinner. And a shopping trip with Ashley and Hailey. So... dinner at Andersons was steak, shrimp, salad, fruit, sour dough bread, and cake. Blowing out thirteen candles on the cake, just about did me in. 😉Actually, I am doing very well for 68. I am still stuck trying to lose another 10-12 lbs, but generally I feel great. I usually walk about 2 miles a day and I am trying to stick to the weight watchers points again. I sleep pretty well and I try to drink lots of water every day. Then also low sugar, low carbs, and high protein meals. Hailey made the bread. She has been excited about making sour dough bread lately. Audrey made the cake. The shopping trip might be this Friday (Sep. 13). Petes gave me a gift card to use when we go shopping and Audrey gave me a couple of picture frames and some fingernail polish. The best part of my birthday was showing up to Sunday dinner without making anything. Since I had a free afternoon, I worked on some Halloween, Brown Baby Bird items. I took some chocolate cupcakes to our primary class, for my birthday and President Nelson's birthday. They were a Krusteaz gluten free mix and I used almond milk in it. Those were the best cupcakes ever! 😎They have been messing up my weight watchers points this week. I finally put four of them in the freezer for another time. Ron and I went out for dinner, on Friday evening, to Outback. I wanted him to feel like we did something for my birthday. I guess my bday gift that I bought for myself was some new kitchen and bathroom towels. The colors are perfect for both places. 😉 The last picture is one that Ashley got. (I was wondering if anyone else had pics 😏)

Sept 6-9 Birthdays

Four birthdays... one weekend. Alex is 47, Aaron is 53, I am 68, and President Nelson is 100. That 100 birthday is amazing. We watched a church broadcast at 5 pm on Monday, that was dedicated to President Nelson. My birthdays are nothing exciting these days... I think I am done having those- lol 😜

Thompson Adventures

This is from a Facebook post that Carrie shared. They went to Hawaii for Water Polo, with the boys.

On Monday, Mike and I swam the Waikiki Roughwater race.  It was a beautiful swim…ocean temperature was perfect and it was clear so you could always see the bottom.  Lots of fish to keep me occupied for a couple of hours.  It was a little choppy so sometimes instead of air, I got a mouthful of seawater.  And definitely more tiring than our pool or lake swims.  But we did it and it was a great day for it.  2.4 miles is a long ways via water🤣

Strange Happy Things

This post is all of the strange little things that make my weird heart happy. 😉😆Some of them are just pics that I like, some are things that I want to make, some are my start on my trunk or treat for this year, some are items that I like, some are from Brown Baby Bird, some are quotes that I love, one is my favorite breakfast.  Here you go just random pics.

WWJD

Here is something that Annie shared on Facebook. Instead of "What Would Jesus Do?" She calls it "What Would Jared Do?" 😎

I have the best kids! I wanted to share an experience I had a few days ago. I’m calling it my “What would JARED do?” moment (remember the WWJD trend?) Jared does what Jesus would do. 😊

I was trying to get a project done and eager to get started on it for the day. However I then had the thought I hadn’t done my scripture study for the day. I’ve been trying to put more effort into consistent daily scripture study so I was grateful for the thought to do it. However, I was eager to get my project finished so I was having a little argument in my mind. Then I could hear Jared in my thoughts, “Just do your scripture study first!” That motivated me to set aside my project until I did my scripture study. I was able to finish my project that day too. I’m grateful that Jared’s influence is still here even though he’s not physically here. He is a good example to me of diligence and priorities, and I’m still being inspired by his good habits. I’m glad he’s out spreading his good influence with others.

August Birthdays

The usual August birthdays are Mason, Noah, and Alison. Mason and Noah (and Eli) came up with a birthDAY celebration of roller skating, dinner, dessert, and swimming. We joined in for dinner. Although, that plan was pizza, watermelon, powdered sugar donuts, fruit rollups, and root beer floats. Not very diet friendly food- lol 😆😉(I took my own pizza, so that it was a known point quantity). Ron got to have the real pizza, and he managed to not eat the donuts, even though he was tempted. 😖Those things and gifts were on Saturday, August 24th. On Sunday, August 25th we had cake and ice cream, after dinner. I made two small cakes. One chocolate and one cookies and cream. Alison had a little dirt bike accident on her birthday (she scraped up a leg, and maybe her arm and wrist) and then they went out for Mexican food. Micah posted a few pics on Facebook. Some of these pics are a little "timeline" for Alison.
