Last Stop
We were the last stop for the Simms, before leaving for England. And we were the last stop for Mike and Carrie, on their way back to Houston from CA. So we had one week in August were we had fun, games, food, pool... with some "cousin time"...at our house. The Simms arrived late on Monday evening after driving all day from Oklahoma. I decided on Tuesday evening, we needed a little birthday cake for Annie and Alex. The Andersons came out for half a day and evening on Wednesday. Mike, Carrie , and boys arrived late Wednesday evening. Thursday morning was load up and head for the San Antonio airport for the Simms. Andersons came back out for dinner and swimming on Thursday evening. Thompsons headed for Houston on Friday.

Pool Time
On Sunday, of our Utah trip, we all went to church, then fixed food and took it to the neighborhood park. That way we had plenty of table space for everyone. Even though some of the guests were only there for Saturday, there was still lots of us for a Sunday meal. I only got a few pics at the park. On Monday, most of us went to the neighborhood pool. Lots of great pics there. Monday evening we headed back to SLC airport..arriving SAT alittle after midnight. My only thing to do on Tuesday was go get mom from Cibolo Creek nursing home in Boerne. We had a good trip...followed by a bad week of trying to recover from the nursing home stay :(

The Main Event for July 29
Hailey's baptism turned out great. LOTS of family in attendance, great music, great talks ;), etc. After the baptism, at the church, we all went to the community center, in the neighborhood where Ashley and Daniel live... for brunch. It was an awesome day. Lots of boys in white shirts and ties. Fun and games, food, and family at the community center. We served sliced meat, cheese, boiled eggs, yogurt, rolls, fruit, and ice cream cake. (Alison and Micah brought the ice cakes... four different flavors.) We took a "group photo"... I need to track that down from someone :)

To Utah in July
On July 27, we flew to Salt Lake City and then drove to Smithfield for a long weekend with the Petes. Our 7:30 am flight turned into a 1:30 pm flight. So... we got to sit in the San Antonio airport all morning... after getting up in the middle of the night for an early flight- lol. The main event for the weekend was Hailey's baptism. (I decided that rather than one long post...I would do 3 shorter ones.) We arrived Thursday evening and met the Simms and Ashley at a Mexican restaurant for dinner. (The Pete kids and Daniel, were at an activity with the Andersons.) I guess, by the time I was looking for a rental car, all of the prices were high and I ended up getting a "premium car". One of the four choices on that was a convertible Mustang... so that, of course, was what we took :) The only reason I would have reserved a premium car was if the price was about the same as a small compact, that I would normally have gotten- lol. Anyway... having that car made for a fun "date" weekend for us. The grand kids all took turns riding in it. The plan for Friday evening was a picnic and games at a park in Logan. It turned out to be a great evening and a great idea for dinner for everyone. On our side of the family there was us, the Andersons, the Simms, and the Christiansens. Add to that lots of Daniel's family, including parents, brothers, his sister and kids. There was about 50 of us... give or take a few :)
