Third Trip to the Splash Pad

Over the summer, we did the splash pad with the Simms, the Petes/Andersons, and the Christiansens. The third time we went after dark, which proved to be some "cool" photos. (At least cool pics of the fountains. Not very good "people" pics) We went to Kerrville about dinner time and ate at Fuddruckers. By the time we got to the splash pad it was just about dark and they had the colored lights on.

Date Night

On Alison's birthday, she and Micah went out for dinner and a movie. The kids stayed with Baba and Papa.

More Swimming...We are Still "Texas Toast"

Again, the main event for the Christiansen visit was swimming. Mostly daytime, but we had one evening swim. I included the night time photos just because the camera made the pool water look interesting in the dark. Sorry...they are just in random order.

Happy Birthday to Alison

The Christiansens arrived on Saturday, August 22. We had a little birthday celebration on Sunday evening, so that she and Micah could have a date night on her birthday. Audrey and the boys were at our house too. We all went to church together on Sunday. It was great to add Alison, Audrey, and all of the kids to the Kerrville Primary. They were a great help there. Here are a few pics for Alison's birthday. The strawberry cake that I made turned out to be too soft and messy to hold candles. But we did manage to get 31 candles on my "plan B" cake. (one layer of white and one layer of chocolate).

A Yard Full of Turkeys

We have enjoyed watching the animals that "hang out" in our front yard. It's not unusual for us to have breakfast on the front porch and watch the animals, especially the turkeys come and eat the bird seed. Then throughout the day, they come back again, joined by deer, rabbits, squirrels, and birds. Here are some more turkey pictures :)

The Silver Hanger at the Home School Conference

Ashley and Daniel and the kids left on Wednesday, then on Thursday morning we loaded up the suburban and headed for Houston. (August 13) Our first stop was lunch with some of Ron's friends from COP. By the time we arrived at the restaurant and tried to find a parking place, where there was none- we were about done with Houston traffic- lol. After lunch, Ron went to the COP office for about an hour, while I went shopping for a mirror. Late Thursday afternoon, in rush hour traffic, we headed to the North Hilton. We were there all day on Friday and Saturday, as a vendor at the National LDS Home School Conference. We had a nice room and the conference was in the beautiful lobby of the hotel. We met some really nice people there. I sold some skirts and dresses, we loaded up Saturday evening and made it home by about 10:30.
