Some of My Favorite Thoughts

Here are a few of my favorite thoughts that I have been gathering up... mostly from Facebook.

Simms Update x 3

3 brief updates from the Simms. Savannah didn't have a great start to 2025. In January she went to the ER with a rotavirus. Then 10 days later, she was well enough to go on a back packing trip with Alex. Then by Feb.18th, she had to go back to the ER. Owen had to carry her out to the car, because she was too weak to walk on her own. They did tons of tests and medications for 4 nights and 5 days and never came up with any reason for her pain and weakness. When she finally was well enough to go home, it was still another two weeks of weakness and needing help to do everyday things. Annie stayed there at the hospital with her the entire time, helping her and watching all of the various procedures. That had to be very frustrating to come back home with no answers.

Owen has been playing volleyball and doing well. Elder Simms has been doing well on his mission.

New Flower Garden

Our neighbor had time to work on Ron's new flower garden in our front yard. Ron planted tons of flower seeds there. It will be interesting to see what grows. We also have new yard lights around the two trees and in the flower bed. So far, much better than the overgrown bushes that were there. Ready for SPRING.

Small Pie

For Eli's birthday dinner, he wanted pie. So, I made one regular pie and one small pie, just for him. I had to shop around to find a "pie dish" for that. I finally bought a set of Corell dishes from Target. They were the perfect size and the pie baked well in that. We also met Andersons at a Carabbas for dinner on Saturday evening. Sunday dinner was at Petes. Eli's birthday snuck up on me. I didn't plan ahead very well for it. It wasn't until I changed my calendar from February to March, that I realized it was his birthday.

A Bit of Green

A bit of green for a couple of weeks. I don't have a house full of decor for St. Patrick's Day. To be honest, that decor usually isn't very cute. I have managed to pick up a few good items though, enough for my entry way and a couple of other spots. I will start getting out Easter stuff, for the rest of the spaces that I normally decorate. I actually love the way the rich green looks with my "totally tan" walls. It's a good change from the February red. I got the little green pillows from Target for $5 each. The color is actually better than the picture shows. Just the right accent of green. I have one more black and white plate coming next week. That will complete my St. Patrick's Day items.

Spring Items at Brown Baby Bird

I am trying out some new merchandise at my Brown Baby Bird booth. I am also considering going to a second store soon. I also, have plans to modify my ribbon blankets and make them simpler and slightly smaller. I haven't had the chance to get that going yet. I have had several alteration orders to work on, which is good for my checking account balance, after purchasing new merchandise. Here are pictures of my "Spring" items. Cute stuffed chicks, bunnies, lambs, fireflies, and a goose toy. Bibs, teethers, play mats, other toys, books, mini blankets, regular ribbon blankets, and table runners. With the JoAnn stores going out of business, I will need some new supply options.

Double February Birthdays

It was that time again to celebrate Ron and Audrey's birthdays. Nothing very fancy or exciting... but at least something 😄🎉 I had an idea to order bow ties for the men, fancy little hats for the ladies, and colorful sunglasses. We got some fun pictures. Dessert was mostly blackberry rhubarb pie, but I needed a small chocolate cake to put some candles in. 😉Singing "Happy Birthday" was the worst rendition I have ever heard- lol.
