Berthoud High School Reunion

 Several months ago we organized a planning committee for a class reunion. That committee had 8 ladies on it. (plus one man, but he never showed up to any of the zoom meetings- lol. Four of the ladies were out of state and four were in Colorado.) My remote job was sending out emails with information and collecting money for the Saturday evening dinner. We planned a multi-year class reunion on Berthoud Day weekend of this year. (Berthoud Day weekend is always the first weekend in June). The schedule of events was a parade float building party on Friday evening, followed by a 1975 gathering at a local restaurant. Saturday morning was the parade. Saturday evening was a dinner in Loveland. (Along with the dinner we had a silent auction to raise money toward the next reunion. The only thing that made sense for me to bring for that, was a couple of "Grandma baskets" with Brown Baby Bird items in them.)  Sunday afternoon was a potluck picnic in the park. (We didn't plan the picnic, but we advertised it and encouraged people to participate.) Our personal schedule was to arrive in Denver on Friday afternoon. I took Ron to John and Angela's house so that he and John could watch a Spurs game, while Angela and I went to the 1975 gathering. On Saturday morning, I parked the car and left Ron at Fickel park, and I walked to the start of the parade and rode on the float. Saturday afternoon, we just hung around at the motel, then went to pick up the sheet cake from Walmart and go to the dinner in Loveland. On Sunday morning we met Rick Corder and his family for breakfast, at Gabe's Cafe in Frederick, then we went to the picnic for a couple of hours. (Luckily, I had leftover cake from Saturday evening to take to the picnic.) Sunday evening, we had dinner with Doug, near out motel. On Monday, we headed back to San Antonio. Our flight in Denver took off late and took off right after a severe storm came through. That was one of the wildest flights I have ever been on... getting out around and above that storm. It was a fast weekend... so glad that we stayed "healthy and happy" for it. And so grateful for the life and the family that we have 😉The class pics are 1972, 1975, and 1976. Kitchen Update

 We got the new ceiling lights, counter tops, and sink for the kitchen last Fall, but it was recently when I figured out that I had some "before and after" pictures. I did a Facebook post with two of the pics. I was surprised at how many people saw that and even more surprised at how many comments I got. Most of them loved it. One guy gave me suggestions on what else to do and my new friend from Colorado commented about how much she loved black or black stainless appliances vs my white ones 😉😃Here is what I wrote in my post-

Most of the time I consider our house to be a generic suburbia home. Not much "character" here. I always wanted an old farmhouse, with lots of character... but sadly that is not to be. I did get my kitchen slightly remodeled, which helps my discontentment somewhat- lol. (and actually, at the very beginning when we moved in the appliances were black those had to be replaced right away- lol. Oh and the nasty linoleum floor had to go before we moved in.)
