A Few Thanksgiving Items

Mike, Carrie, and the boys came to our house for Thanksgiving. They arrived late Wednesday afternoon. That evening we went to the 11th Street Bar, in town. (Wed evenings are always, cook-your-own-meat-family-night. And the Wed before Thanksgiving is also get-a-turkey-fried. Tons of people there. We went with the Simmons, John prepared the turkeys to fry and made a reservation for our group. It was fun...not exactly kid friendly...but okay.) On Thursday morning Mike and Carrie ran a half marathon in San Antonio. I cooked dinner and had it ready about 1 pm. On Friday the Thompsons went to SA to the Alamo and to a restaurant with 3 lb cinnamon rolls. Ron and I went to a movie in Kerrville. On Saturday morning the Thompsons went to SA again...new tires on the car and some shopping.  Mike came back with a great cake for Carrie's birthday and we ordered Chinese food for dinner. Here are just a few random "food pics". (Mostly from Carrie's birthday...but a few from Thanksgiving dinner.)

One Year Old

We celebrated Luke's first birthday. He is such a cute kid. Audrey wanted to do a "Cookie Monster" party. My little cake looks kind of cute, if I don't show you the original cake idea from pinterest- lol. The cupcakes are just "blue monsters"- haha. (My first time to try making dark colored frosting with gel food color. And I had alittle technical difficulty with the frosting tube and tips.) Anyway... the party had lots of BLUE. (A few of the pics were from Audrey and not at the party, but I included them because they are so cute.)

Misc Items for November

Just some random items for the month of November... some how it came and went very quick. Early in the month I went to a baby shower. (I couldn't actually stay for the shower, but I took a gift) One of  my standard taggie blankets- lol :) We always enjoy the deer in the yard. We have our standard "bunch". The weather was mild...a couple of small freezes, but some beautiful flowers and butterflies. I bought a new TV for the living room. I really wanted one to hang on the wall to take up less space in that room. It was like we gained an extra 3 feet there. I also was able to buy a couple of new chairs, so that we have more seating options. I put out a minimal amount of Thanksgiving decor. I was really wanting to go directly to Christmas... but life was crazy, and I didn't have time to get much out until after Thanksgiving. (I'm sure that Ron and mom were happy about that- ha) The last pic is a birthday card that I made for the bishop. He turned 40 on Thanksgiving day. We had all of the primary children and teachers sign it.

Brown Baby Bird

Here is my inspiration for renaming my LLC. This is one of my favorite animals at our house. This little brown bird, hops around the outside of the house...eating insects...even scorpions :) The photos are not great. I took them from our bedroom window and had to zoom in alot. Since I closed "The Silver Hanger", I am wanting to keep the LLC, but rename and rebrand it. It will be called "Brown Baby Bird". More info soon. All I need is more time to sew, to design labels, take pics, and figure out the etsy shop thing- lol. (Maybe this is a long term project- haha.)

Primary Program Sunday

October 29, was our Sunday for the Primary Program Sacrament meeting. Primary spends all year long learning songs and then preparing short talks for all of the children, at church, to do. It is always stressful and lots of details to manage, but the children always do a great job. As one lady posted... "If they mess up, they are cute. If they do great, they are cute. They are kids." Exactly. Instead of having a "cookie reception" right after the program, we had the teachers bring treats to class. The chorister also brought "candy cups" to send home. The bishop helped me do sharing time. It was a good Sunday. Then we had a fun Halloween dinner with the Andersons, Sunday evening. We did eat other food... not just dessert :) Since Ron always does the dishes after Sunday dinner, I gave him a break with paperware!
