Gingerbread Houses

One of the activities that the kids enjoyed was the gingerbread house kits that Audrey bought. (We flew in on Friday evening. Dallin's baptism was on Saturday. We went to church on Sunday and that was the day that it snowed 14 inches. Audrey had to leave on Monday, to fly to CA for work. Ron and I went shopping for Christmas gifts and snow pants/coats. The next two posts will show our fun evening at temple square and the snow and other random photos. It was a good trip.)
Any way... here are the gingerbread houses-

Dallin's Baptism

The first weekend in December, we flew out to Utah. Christiansen's had only been in Toole for a short time, so we wanted to see them, and the new house, and be there for Dallin's baptism. Audrey also went. She was on the same flight as us on Friday evening. We were a bit worried about how the weather would be there. (after the baptism pics, I included some SNOW pics :) It snowed 14 inches the Sunday that we were there.

 

Trip to Abilene

On the Monday after Thanksgiving, we loaded mom's bedroom furniture on the trailer and headed for Abilene, to take it to my cousin. It was a quick one day trip. Several hours to get there, unload, stay for lunch and a brief visit, then head home. It was good to see Dan and where he lives and the various houses that he is working on. We went to a barbecue restaurant for lunch. We also got him on Marco Polo, so we can check in with him every now and then ;)

Thanksgiving in Junction

Since the Andersons went to St. George for Thanksgiving, and we didn't have any other company coming... we decided that I would cook food for dinner and take it and brother Kindred to Junction. I packed up all of the food for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner... including several small pies. We picked up Joe and headed for Junction. After dropping of dinner to sister Mockler, we went to sister Porter's to have dinner with her. The Sunday before Thanksgiving, I had asked brother Kindred what his favorite pie was. He was thinking, he might stump me when he said strawberry/rhurbarb. But I replied, "I can do that. In fact Ron will love that flavor too." I also made a chocolate pie, and a pumpkin pie. (actually several small ones... so that everyone could have their own.) Of course, I made the traditional turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, and cranberry salad. It was a bit different that a normal Thanksgiving for us... but it was good.

Happy Tootsie Pop BDay

For Luke's birthday, Audrey planned a "Tootsie Pop" theme, because he loves those suckers. There were some fun games, all geared to small children. Also, some fun food, and of course cake and candles. A few of the friends from their ward came. It was a fun party.

Brown Baby Bird Thanksgiving & Christmas

I made a few Thanksgiving cards and a few Christmas items. I also got some cute bandanna bibs and vinyl signs.
