Primary Program Sunday
October 29, was our Sunday for the Primary Program Sacrament meeting. Primary spends all year long learning songs and then preparing short talks for all of the children, at church, to do. It is always stressful and lots of details to manage, but the children always do a great job. As one lady posted... "If they mess up, they are cute. If they do great, they are cute. They are kids." Exactly. Instead of having a "cookie reception" right after the program, we had the teachers bring treats to class. The chorister also brought "candy cups" to send home. The bishop helped me do sharing time. It was a good Sunday. Then we had a fun Halloween dinner with the Andersons, Sunday evening. We did eat other food... not just dessert :) Since Ron always does the dishes after Sunday dinner, I gave him a break with paperware!
Trick-Or-Treat BGR Style
In BGR they are starting to have an annual tradition for Halloween. A hot dog roast for dinner...then trick-or-treat hayride around the neighborhood. This year had 35 kids, 25 adults, three tractors with trailers and a parade of cars following. It was a little "chilly" this year for this activity. Noah and Eli were both planning to come, but Noah was sick. So just Eli and papa went. This trick-or-treating turns out great. I know exactly when they are coming...how many are coming...and it's done in about 10 minutes. Perfect. In order to shorten the route a bit... they told me to be at the corner of Palomino Springs and Buckskin Trail. Since I already had my "trunk" decorated from the fall festival, I just parked the suburban there and had little bags of "pirate treasure" for treats. We live in a great neighborhood.
Fall Festival
Each year, one of the best activities at church, is the fall festival. Chili cook-off, games, fellowship, and trunk-or-treat. It is always on or near Halloween and our primary program is also scheduled for that time of year. So each year, when we are planning the festival, I tell them..."primary can't be in charge of anything...primary just comes to play." So I show up with some chili and my trunk-or-treat, a couple of cakes for the calk walk, and my camera :) I never plan on winning anything with my chili... but I won second place this year- lol. All of my kids and their families love the costume part of Halloween... usually doing some fancy family-theme-costumes. I love the trunk-or-treat part, not the costumes.

Just For Me
Out on Pinterest I have a board called "Just For Me". I save stuff there that probably no one else needs or wants, but at some point, there are things there that are just for me :) That is what this post is...nothing that anyone else needs...but some time later I will want to look at it. Some time later... when the girls divide up my cute stuff and put me in a nursing home... I will be able to look at this post and remember all of my cute stuff- lol. On Monday, October 2nd, mom was having a bad day. Since I was having to answer her call button about every 30 minutes, all I accomplished that day was "putting around" getting my Halloween "stuff" out. I needed to be upstairs working on the storage room, but I couldn't work on that project until Lisa got here. (So, I did that during the evening, instead of Ron and I going out on visits.) Then, last Thursday, I made the spiral mesh wreath for the door. It turned out bigger and fluffier than I wanted...good thing I have a big door. But using the mesh in spirals and the colors turned out well. The "HAUNT" letters are new. I just ordered those online and glued the paper to them. Anyway... here is my cute stuff- haha.
