MESSY

Here is my last post of August 2021. I did a little project today, that I wasn't planning on doing. Do you know what happens when you cut a feather pillow apart? 😕 It's MESSY 😝

I had three pillows that were a good print and color to go our guest bed. But they were an 18"x18" size and that didn't work very well on the bed. I knew that it would be easy to cut the covers down, to fit a smaller pillow. At first I looked on Amazon to just order 3- 12"x18" pillows. But they were about $11 each. Then I remembered that I had 3- 13.5"x24" pillows that I wasn't using. I thought, "I can cut those smaller and cut the covers smaller to fit". Well... my plan worked great... except those larger pillows had feather stuffing in them. I had to clean up my mess when I was done 😉 The good thing about the feather stuffing is that it can be squished down in the pillow to allow me to sew the cut edge closed... so that part worked better than expected. Now I have 3 good, 18"x18" pillows to cover with something else. I should have figured out this plan before I bought pillows for the new sofas upstairs. Maybe those 3 extra pillows will be holiday ones. All I know is that there are a bunch of naked birds running around, without all of the feathers that it took to stuff those pillows- lol 😲

Mason and Noah BDay

Mason and Noah share the same birthday... Mason turned 9 and Noah turned 8 on August 27. We did a little bit fancier Sunday dinner last night, for those two birthdays. Not a very exciting "party", but a fun dinner together. We love our Sunday dinners with the Petes and the Andersons. Mason wanted his moms famous chicken pot pie and Noah wanted baked potatoes and Ceasar salad. We also had coleslaw, veggies and dip, watermelon, Root Beer, Nothing Bundt cakes, and ice cream. I managed to get a few photos.

August "This and That"

A few random items for August. While the Pete kids were with us, we did a daily trip to their house to take care of the cats and fish 😉 I got a cute photo of one of their cats in a plastic toy. I also got a cute picture of our cat, Gracie. I took a few more decor pics in our guest bathroom (those pics didn't turn out very well, it was too dark in there, so I had to adjust the light and color) and I love the "sunflower" that I got for the white pitcher in the dining room. (that picture turned out great).

Andersons took a new family photo this month.

Alison

It was 12 years ago, in August, that Alison graduated from BYU. She also celebrated her 37th birthday this month. She has been busy home schooling the kids, trying to keep up with Eden, and building a new house. Life was crazy at our house for 10 days with the Pete kids... I'm sure that life is crazy all the time at the Christiansen house 😉 She and Micah are amazing at keeping up with "it all".

August Anniversaries

August is anniversary month for the Simms, the Thompsons, and the Petes. Simms were celebrating 21 years. Thompsons were celebrating 22 years. The Petes were celebrating 13 years. Annie and Alex went on a little trip in July to San Luis Obispo/Morro Bay. Mike shared a newlywed picture from when they were in France and then a current picture. Ashley and Daniel went a trip to Glacier National Park... leaving the kids with us for 10 days. (That's why I am behind on my Sunday blogging. Life was crazy at our house for those 10 days 😂).

Back to School

The Simms kids and the Anderson kids went back to school this month. I grabbed pics from Simms and Andersons for that. Jaden was hoping to start public school last week, but couldn't go until today. He and Ashley needed to verify his home school transcript before he could go. And... Harlen High School had 800 new students last week, they are trying to adjust 😉😂 Luke got accepted to a pre-school at the same school as Eli and Noah. He was excited to start that. It was funny... there was one day last week when he didn't want to go, because the pizza for lunch was "disgusting" and he didn't want to eat it- lol. But he wouldn't admit to calling it disgusting- haha

Owls

I know I am crazy, but I kept most of my "owl decor" in our bedroom. I found some fabric recently for a new runner for my dresser. It turned out pretty cute. I don't want Ron to feel like he has to live in a
frilly-girlie bedroom... so my decor is owls and grey/black/gold. I remember seeing someone else's bedroom one time that was all lace and flowers etc. That might work for a girls room... but not an adult couple- lol.
