Back to school for Andersons and Thompsons and Simms. Petes and Christiansens do home school ... and Petes were on a vacation and Alison has been sick.) Alex always gets his own pancake number... he has been in school forever- lol 😎 Annie is getting pretty good at those pancake numbers.
This month (August) Elder Simms left home to go to the MTC in Utah. Pics from the airport and some from the MTC (Missionary Training Center). He looks so good! I am sure that he is having a great time there and making some great friends. In a couple of the pics from the MTC, Nathan is in the back of the photo. I don't know all of the people that were at the airport. His mission is going to be an amazing experience.
Okay... so the first mattress that I bought did not work. It is a mystery to me as to why it was so bad. When I got up each morning, everything hurt. The pressure points on my hips and shoulders were bad. I had a lady come and take that one... Amazon gave me a refund... and I purchased a different one. A Dream Cloud premier. It is so much better than the other mattress. Of course, it was almost double the cost of the first one. Then our dishwasher quit, so I had to purchase a new one. So... I finally got my WHITE one. 😉The one we had was black, with a piece of white magnet on the front... which actually worked better than I expected. My plan all along was to use that until it quit and then get a white one. I wanted to get another Bosch, but Ron always complained so much about trying load dishes into the one we had in Bandera, I decided to try a GE.
August is anniversary month for the Thompsons, the Simms, and the Petes. This year was 23rd for Thompsons, 22nd for the Simms, and 14th for the Petes. I grabbed a few pics from various posts. Carrie actually posted 29 pics for 23 years... I didn't save all of those 😉The Simms went on an overnight trip to a bay town near them. I think Mike was on his way to Kazakhstan, for their anniversary. Petes shared a few pics, but I don't know if they did anything in particular. Anyway... here are a few pics.
I decided to do a post about how I package my Brown Baby Bird items. I documented each step 😉One of the things that would make my record keeping slightly easier would be that when I start a new project/pattern, I should do each item in that set at the same time. "Clear as mud?" Okay... when I get some new fabric and stuffed animals to coordinate, and I can make a certain number of sets... let's say six. Two sets with one animal, two sets with another animal, two ribbon blankets, and a floor mat. I should make all of those at the same time. (Instead, I often might do two sets and one ribbon blanket and then at some later time do two more sets and a ribbon blanket. Then at some other time do the floor mat.) That makes keeping track of my inventory difficult, as to what is ready to sell and what still needs to be sewn up. So... I had a basket of just ribbon blankets that were ready to sew... everything cut out... ribbons cut and ready. I decided to take a couple of days and just FINISH those. Kind of like that craft project that got started and has been just sitting, waiting to be finished. 😂 When I finished those and I was ready to package them, I decided to document that process. It might be more complicated than you think.
1. Take several photos of the item. Those will be used for some information cards and photos for Facebook and Etsy. With my Etsy shop, I have started doing a better variety of photos to post.
2. Put the item into the plastic bag and add a plastic link as a hanger.
3. Insert a "Ribbon Blanket Description" card in the FRONT of the package.
4. Insert a "Product Information" card in the BACK of the package and a "Brown Baby Bird information" card in the back as well. (My product information card is specifically for the item. That is where one of the photos is used. On the sets, with a blanket and a stuffed animal, there is an additional card for the outside of the paper tote bag. All of these pics here are just for blankets without a stuffed animal.)
5. Add a plastic bag caution label somewhere on the bag.
6. Add two "Price" labels, one on the front and one on the back. These are removeable labels, and one can be removed as record of the sale, like at Homestead Handcrafts. (The 0395 number on the labels is my vendor identification code for Homestead Handcrafts. When I had items at Homestead Handcrafts and at The Shops of Bandera, my labels had to be different at each place. Ug 😏)
7. Ready to sell 😎 Take to Homestead or keep in my closet for Etsy.
