Mothers Day 2023

I recently saw a quote, " Life doesn't come with an instruction manual, it comes with a Mother."

I did a post on Face Book that said, "Ron's mom has been gone 33 years and my mom has been gone for 5 years. We think of them, and we miss them, but these are the mothers that we celebrate on Mother's Day and every day of the year". (Carrie, Annie, Audrey, Alison, and Ashley) They are all amazing Mothers. I also found a cute "Supermom" cartoon. Mother's Day was May 14 and our anniversary was May 15. We had Mother's Day dinner at our house this year. Usually, Sam insists on dinner at their house... but he was busy this year and besides Audrey took the girls out to the Cheesecake Factory for birthday/Mother's Day dinner. I included a couple of pics of the dining room, the way we set it up for Sunday dinners. I bought a bouquet of fresh flowers... for myself πŸ˜‰I forgot how cheerful fresh flowers are. Mike sent me an Amazon gift card, Ashley bought me a temple bag, Annie sent me a "Shepherd" picture. Ron never shops or buys me gifts... and that is okay, I don't mind. But this year, I guess for Mother's Day, our anniversary, and probably my birthday in September... he bought me a bike. 😎The actual day of our anniversary we had lunch at WhataBurger- lol. (We can say that we did something)

Thirty-Six

Ashley turned 36 this year. (Man, that is hard to type... and to believe... she is the baby) πŸ˜πŸ˜• We had a little family dinner with cake. When we were trying to figure out food assignments for that Sunday dinner, I said that I wanted to bring a veggie lasagna, a regular lasagna, and a birthday cake. Everyone was wondering whose birthday it was. Ashley's comment was "I was about to ask whose birthday? It's that time already." 😜 These things are hard to keep track of- lol. I tried a new recipe for a raspberry, white chocolate poke cake. It turned out okay, but not great. The cake part was kind of dry and I had to leave it in the original cake pan because of "poking it and pouring over sauce and choc." I found the fancy gold plates at the Home Goods store and then had to figure out how to use them πŸ˜‰On Monday, we took the Pete family out for dinner to a restaurant called Aspen Creek. Then on Friday, after Ashley's birthday Audrey took the "girls" to the Cheesecake Factory. Here are a few pics. I also included some San Antonio Zoo pics in this post. That was another "outing" for the Petes when Daniel's parents were here.

April Events

Here are all of the April events lumped into one post.

Daniel's parents were here staying with them for most of April. They went on a few day trips. The Riverwalk, the beach, and Wildseed Farms. They did a couple of temple trips... we did one of those with them,

Andersons went to Gonzales/New Orleans LA, for gymnastics meet and a quick weekend trip. One of the places that they visited was the WWII museum.

Annie and Alex went to the Carrizo Plain National Monument. Lots of pretty flowers.

Jared Simms had prom and some track meet races.

Micah and Alison did a cute photo shoot... all dressed up.

Ryan Thompson had a great soccer season with his team.
