New Things Coming

I ordered new counter tops for my kitchen. Pics later of that. Probably installed mid Oct. I also purchased a new sink and faucet. Those items are sitting in the living room... waiting. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜I actually wanted quartz countertops, but Ron insisted on the molded edge behind the sink and around the walls... so laminate it is. At least I will get a new color. (I will have "before" and "after" pics of that project.) We got two new light fixtures in the kitchen installed and a new light fixture above the stairs. The real thing looks better than the pics. I really love the light above the stairs. (I should have done a "before" and "after" of that. The "before" fixture was really ugly.) We have a friend that talked about doing that for us... but I wasn't convinced that he had the proper ladder. It didn't take the gentleman very long at all that did have the proper ladder. πŸ˜‰I have had that fixture sitting in my closet for a year waiting for that installation.

My Birthday

What I celebrated on my birthday this year was the fact that I am not 70 yet- lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜We had dinner at the Petes. Hailey made a really amazing pumpkin cake. I received a few fun bday gifts. (Besides what I pictured there were also some fun cards from the Anderson boys and a couple of games for Ron and I to "try" to play. Also, some mushroom decor.) The Swig drink was from the primary president, the Nothing Bundt cakes were from another couple in the ward, and the ladies next door game us a Taco Cabana gift card. Ashley gave me the Bella Grace book. I am doing well for 69 πŸ˜‰

New Booth for Brown Baby Bird

On the first of August, Brown Baby Bird moved into a space at Alamo Craft Company. I had looked at a space there several years ago, but it was a bit too messy and cluttered up for me. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†There are some new owners there now and another friend has a booth there, so I decided to give it a try. My first month there was not great, but it wasn't "zero" either. I made over $600 in alteration money for the last week of July and for the month of August, so that gives me a good "rent cushion" for the rest of the year. I know that these "new booths" are pretty slow going, so I am not worried. It does double my work load on keeping two places stocked and in order. I have tons of fabric and stuffed animals and other baby items... I just need "time" to get stuff made- lol πŸ˜€And my new items are less time consuming to make and cost less. I also need to spend a ton of time updating my Etsy page- haha.

Mason and Noah Birthdays

This year wasn't a super exciting year for two August birthdays, but we did a little. On Mason's birthday we went for dinner with the Petes. Audrey had a friend party for Noah the Saturday after his birthday. Then of course, we did our normal Sunday birthday dinner for them. Here are just a few pics from the Sunday dinner. Mason wanted an Oreo ice cream cake, so that was my assignment. This was "13" for Mason and "12" for Noah.

Mushrooms

I bought some super cute mushroom fabric from Etsy, so of course I needed to find some other cute stuff to go with it- lol. It has actually turned out to be the perfect September decor. I am getting braver about using some bold colors, with my "totally tan" house. πŸ˜† And in the eating area of my kitchen, I did a little "Texas" display. Audrey helped out my mushroom decor with a few items for my birthday.

Back to School 2025

Here are some short "blips" of back to school for Ryan, Hazel, Simms, and Andersons.

Carrie-

Big week around our place…Mike and I celebrated our 26th anniversary and Ryan started high school.  I was sad that I missed seeing him (I had him take his pic the day before) because he was up at 5:30am for water polo practice.  Sigh…first day was probably long for him😳. Feeling so blessed with my awesome family!!

Annie-

Back to school this week - 11th, 9th, 7th. (And looks like the pancakes for Alex are “41”.) And Annie posted a photo collage of kids walking to school, because they have had someone at the elementary school for the past 13 years. Finally saying good bye there.

Sam-

First day of 25-26. Three different schools: 3rd, 7th, and 9th. We love learning!

Back to School Christiansens

Here is what Alison posted on Facebook about the kids starting a new school year. They are still doing school at home.

Dallin

He's our oldest and is excited to start into Homeschool High School. He gets to do Seminary, Engineering, Geometry, Foundations of Freedom, Foods for Life, and Outdoor Nature Survival Skills. He is also very excited to do Drivers Ed next semester! And of course, he loves mountain biking! He took 7th in his category at the first race of this season. Excited to see how he does at the next one. This kid is so creative and talented and he does not disappoint!

Emmy

This girl is on fire!!! She took 2nd in her first race of this mountain biking season!  She is also excited for another year of learning. She'll be taking Watercolor Joy, Geometry, Anatomy, Health & Wellness, Foundations of Freedom, and Outdoor Nature Survival Skills.  She is self-motivated, organized, and creative. She loves kids and dogs. And she's definitely got a bright future ahead!

Evelyn

She is determined! Even after breaking her finger during the summer, she did not miss a gymnastics practice. She is competing at a higher level this year and she couldn't be more thrilled. She is excited to delve into Hand Lettering and Watercolor. She'll also have Health & Wellness and Anatomy. She is generous and sweet and also muscular and graceful. Excited to see what she accomplishes this year!

Ashton

This kid is hilarious and easy going! He is most excited for his own Craftsmanship class this year. And lots of fun reading, science, math, and art at home. He keeps life fun! But he will surprise you out of the blue with something really wise to say. He loves biking, 4 wheeling, trampoline, and creating things from random cardboard boxes. So grateful for this kid!

Eden

This girl is a ball of love, energy, demands, and fun! She loves her siblings even though she's constantly getting into arguments. She is a natural at both Tumbling and Cheer! She has several children's books memorized and can read them to you start to finish in her sweet little voice, and she loves to snuggle and hug. I appreciate her honesty and how she will tell you just how it is! My little heart breaker. πŸ’•
