The Christiansens had originally planned a big circle trip heading south and east, going through Oklahoma, the Colorado and Wyoming, then back home. But, that got rearranged and turned into a trip to Santa Barbara instead. They had a rough start with car problems, but finally made it for the fourth of July and a few days after that. Here are other pictures from that trip and their visit with the Simms.
It is getting more difficult all the time to keep track of where our kids are. Kind of like hunting for Waldo, on a "Where's Waldo Map". 😉 The most recent travels for Mike and Carrie and the boys was to Canada. But, Carrie went for a week, by herself to Scotland and then Mike joined her in London, before the Canada trip. The boys stayed home with Brenda, because they had other activities and commitments to keep. The boys joined them for a few days on the Canada trip... Nicholas had to go back home earlier than everyone else for a lifeguard training class. Carrie posted almost every day about her castle tours in Scotland. I just grabbed a few pics to share here.
Before we moved to this house, I spent time figuring out what furniture we needed to keep and where it would go ... remember we did a pretty serious "downsize". The front room, downstairs needed to be where the bookshelves and Ron's desk would go. While I don't particularly like that, when people come in the front door, that was the best area for that. My sewing room is the front bedroom upstairs, which works perfect for everything except my desk. As it turns out there is a small sitting area just outside that bedroom, toward the door of the master bedroom. That has been the perfect space for my desk. (I had been trying to sell my desk ... now I am glad that it didn't sell.) I finally bought a new computer and did just one little wall of wallpaper there. Annie had given me a scanner and an external storage device over a year ago... maybe even two. I have been waiting until I got a new computer to use those items. I have tons of old photos and family history documents to scan. I was nervous about trying to transfer from my old computer to a new one... but I think I had help in deciding which computer to purchase, because the transfer was pretty easy and most of my familiar programs are there. "Picasa" is the only thing missing. I have been trying "Collage Maker". I am not loving it... I might search for something else, or I think Annie had Alex figure out how to move Picasa to a new computer. Anyway... here are some pics of my new desk space ... same space, just some improvements 😉
The Christiansens drove out to CA to spend July 4th with the Simms. Their trip had a rough start with car problems, which almost canceled the whole thing. After renting an RV trailer and then having car trouble and getting both the car and the trailer back home, one of their neighbors let them borrow a vehicle so they could still go... just behind schedule. This post is just July 4 pics. I will do another post of their other activities while there. Looks like they had a great vacation there. And I am sure that Annie was excited to have them come.
This post is just my cute decor and my PIE and my WREATH- lol. I kind of forgot how much I love the door wreaths that are just garland wrapped around a foam wreath. I need to make a couple more of those. The only two things that we did that might be considered a "holiday weekend thing" is that we went to Outback to eat (that is Ron's favorite restaurant) and we went to the "Elvis" movie. Although it is pretty sad when a movie and snacks to for two seniors is over $50. 😖 That movie is rather troubling... prime examples of drinking, drugs, sex, pride, and greed... to ruin your life. 😉 In the evening we just did our normal "watch TV thing" while all of the neighbors did fireworks. Those always go late, after we go to bed and leaves a big trash mess in the street and the yard. At least the neighbors are good about cleaning all of that up the next day.

Alison and Micah celebrated a wedding anniversary the end of June. I think Micah and Alison went to a fancy restaurant in Toole for lunch and then they also did a picnic, up Middle Canyon, with Micah's parents and the kids.
