Uncharted Territory

My disclaimer..."I'm not whining or complaining-- just sayin"-
we have entered a new (uncharted territory) phase of life. We spent last week, being Baba and Papa, taking care of three grandsons. No, we are not "new" grandparents, but we are new to being grandparents for more than a couple of days :) We did a really good "spoiling" job. The boys got treats every night- instead of just once or twice a week. (One time, even ice cream in the afternoon, because it was so hot.) We went to the beach (and splashed in the mud), to the zoo (and rode the train), and to the park (more sand in the shoes and socks). When we went to McDonald's they got the happy meal WITH the toy. (sorry Annie) We taught them how to play table hockey with the plastic milk bottle caps. We showed them where the slurpee machine is at 7-Eleven. They stayed up later than usual. They got to set up the play tent in the living room. They played bubbles and frisbee on the trampoline. For Ron and me, our low fat, low carb diet turned into hot dogs, bologna, mac n cheese, and pancakes. We slept on a full size bed. (not used to sleeping that close together :) And with the bathroom light on all night. The morning alarm clock was 6 little feet running down the hallway. We had to try to discipline without laughing!! (that was hard) I was smart enough to rent a mid size car, that three car seats would fit in. We tried out the GPS, but it spent so much time "recalculating" that Ron finally unplugged it and threw in glove box. We played a bunch of "Ben 10" and "Chutes and Ladders". I think we have alot to learn! Anybody else want us to come and spoil the grand kids???
