Trip to Utah

On Tuesday, July 17, we flew out to SLC. We were originally both going to Ashley's house to stay with her kids while she and Daniel went on a youth pioneer trek. But, since Alison had knee surgery on July 11... she needed help at her house too. So, Ron went to Ashley's and I went to Alison's. I didn't take my camera, so the only photos that I got were on my phone. I only got a few of the Christiansens, but I got some fun ones of the Petes. (I was busy, at the Christiansens- lol.) Ron rented a car and drove to Smithfield, and Micah came to the airport and picked me up. Then on Friday, Ron came from Smithfield to American Fork to pick me up, so we could both be with the Petes on Friday evening and on Saturday. Friday evening the kids all had a great time at the pool, there in the neighborhood. Mason was especially excited because they let him go on the big slide. Hazel was fearless, wearing her floaty! On Saturday evening we went out for dinner, then I got few pics of Mason and Hazel driving the toy car! On Sunday we went to sacrament meeting (Ashley and Daniel were the adult speakers there), and then we drove back to American Fork. On Monday, we went back to the airport, mid day. Fourth of July

On Wednesday, the fourth of July, early morning... Ron and I went to help a lady clean up trash in her yard and Ron used the weed eater to get rid of a bunch of sticker bushes, for her. We also took her into town to buy a few groceries at the Dollar Store. We got back home about 2...which is when Audrey and the boys came to swim. I got some fun pics. of swimming. Then late afternoon we had an early dinner. Just as we were finishing up...we had a crazy WIND and RAIN storm. The wind was going all directions...east to west...west to east...north (to blow the slide and other items into the pool)...north to south to blow the inflatable items out of the breezeway toward the drive way. We didn't actually get very much rain, but it was a crazy storm for a few minutes. Audrey and the boys were going to go back to SA to a baseball game, but ended up just going home, because the game was rained out. Most areas did fireworks about 9:15. It was good here in Bandera by then, but some of the fireworks in SA and other areas got rained out. Ron and I went upstairs and watched the TV... so we missed all the fireworks- :).
(I don't know who invented the inflatable chickens... but they are really difficult to sit on!)

More Animals

I am always amazed at what I can do with an inexpensive camera...a really cheap tripod...and a photo editing software. 

(I am making small steps toward getting my Etsy shop set up to sell photos and baby blankets. I know that is a weird combo...but that's what I've got. lol)

Lavender Festival

On Saturday, June 9th, we went to the Blanco Lavender Festival. I had no idea exactly what that was and as we were coming close to downtown Blanco, I could see all of these tents and out door booths that reminded me of the Sun Fest, in Bartlesville. I made a comment to Ron, that "I doubted we were really going there"... he hates shopping, and especially at little "crafty booths"- lol. We wandered around for a couple of hours and then had lunch at a barbecue restaurant. (We couldn't wander too long...it was HOT. ) This was actually our first time to attend a real "Texas hill country" event. ;) Ron bought a couple of lavender plants, and I got some soap, some cards, and a small painting.  (We also went to an open house event at an apartment complex there...that we are part owners of.) Anyway...here are a few pics.

Birthday/Father's Day 2018

Since Sam was traveling and out of town for his birthday...Audrey and I decided to combine "birthday" and "father's day" for our family dinner last night. She wanted to do a "Brasilian" theme in honor of Sam's birthday and his mission. My assignment was bacon wrapped chicken. I also made a small chocolate cake (so that we had something to put candles on) and a small pie (for Ron). Audrey made small cheese bread puffs, salad, beans, rice, lemonade, Sam's favorite Barsilian soda, cheese appetizers, chocolate truffles, and ice cream. There were a few gifts and Eli planned a fun scavenger hunt for Sam. Not your ordinary scavenger hunt but one where you scan the qr code to get the clues. (Too high tech for Baba- lol.) It was hilarious watching Sam and the boys "run around" to find the clues and the hidden photos! Eli and Noah also sang, "I Will Be What I Believe". (I really need Eli to come to our primary and teach the children his actions to go with that song.) The last thing we did was a mule ride to the front gate of BGR. Perfect, warm weather, and not even any bugs hitting me in the face- lol :)

Around the House Projects

Some sewing, decorating, new bedspreads and taggie blankets to make. ( I need to get my inventory ready for Brown Baby Bird- blankets and photos. I have a friend that made the little crocheted frog. It is super cute with my two different kinds of frog fabric.) I have also been cleaning out my office, the storage room, and mom's room. I am about to post some bedding online for sale...then some of mom's furniture. Eventually, I will get a new headboard for the queen bed, and move some of our extra furniture from the library to mom's bedroom. I want to purchase 3 other pieces of furniture... but I might have to save up money for those ;)
