I worked very hard this past month to stock up Brown Baby Bird with cute Christmas items. I took those to Homestead Handcrafts on October 15 and to The Shops of Bandera on Nov. 5. I still have a hand full of items left... but almost all finished. I had a great month at Homestead Handcrafts and a "zero" month in Bandera. (This is the first time that I didn't sell anything at The Shops) I also had a good month at home... shipping a taggie set to CA and doing dress alterations. Here are my cute Christmas sets for this year. It will be interesting to see how sales go. I was looking at the Aurora website to see what I might want to order for next year... tons of items are "sold out". Maybe a symptom of the retail market shortages due to Covid.

Odin from Marvel
Ron started growing a beard several months ago. He decided that he didn't need to shave any more 😉 After that happened, then Audrey had the brilliant idea to have everyone dress up as Marvel characters for Halloween. One of those characters to called Odin. She thought Ron and his beard were perfect for that and she was right. Once he had that thought in mind, he wouldn't let me cut his hair and there wasn't even any beard trimming... just "wild"- lol 😂 Which was a pretty severe "test" for me- haha. I didn't pass with flying colors... but I passed. One day I asked him if he was enjoying the beard? He said, "In some ways". Then I asked if he liked the way it looked and he said yes. (That was my que to not say anything else about it.) As it turned out, the day after Halloween he was ready to cut his hair and shave the beard. I have pics to record this event 😉
West Creek Soccer
One of the very good things about where we live now, is that we are less than 5 minutes from the West Creek Soccer fields. All of the Pete and Anderson kids played soccer this past season. Audrey and Daniel coached. Audrey, Ashley, and Daniel played on an adult team. Our house was the "take-a-break-between-games-stop". Especially for the Petes. Their soccer Saturdays were a full schedule. I only got a few pictures to share (and I had to go gather those up from Face Book).

Front Yard
I have a bit of Halloween out front. Our porch is small! We have two pretty good trees in the front. Some guys came by this week and talked Ron into paying for some tree trimming and haul away. The trees look kind of "naked" now, but the grass will get better sun light. We have a neighbor boy and his dad that take care of our yard.... mowing, edging, trimming bushes, and cleaning up. Ron is pretty spoiled here 😉
Trunk or Treat
Here are a few more Halloween decor pics and then my "trunk or treat" for this year. I don't go all out on Halloween costumes... but I love "trunk or treat". Since we live in a new place I could have used some things from a previous "trunk or treat", but HEB tempted me with the Maleficent Witch 😈😆 After I bought that, I just needed to come up with what else to go with her 😉 Hailey helped me paint the dragon! (We even tried some modge podge and glitter on it.) Usually my main supplies for decorating are tape, food storage cans, cardboard, and plastic tablecloths- haha.
Ashley and Jaden
Here is some thing that Ashley shared recently on Facebook. Great thoughts and we love her so much. She may not realize just how strong she is. Her testimony is awesome and she is a great mom.
"I posted this in my stories and it sparked lots of comments so I felt impressed to share it here. And to follow it up with- everything I am and ever will be is because of my Heavenly Parents and my Savior, Jesus Christ. Had I not gone through this, my testimony would not be what it is today and that’s something that can never be taken away. College sports (or even my senior year of HS sports for that matter) may have been fun but it would eventually end.. Being a pregnant teen in the church and at school was hard but that came to an end. Having very few friends was hard. Missing my “normal” senior year was hard. Being a young single mom for 3 years, trying to work and go to college was hard but it came to an end when I met Daniel and we were married in the temple, as well as sealed to Jaden. Maybe my life didn’t go as planned but I’ve been blessed in ways I never could have imagined. I think of the phrase “This too shall pass” … but the things of eternal value will never pass away and that’s what He lives for. That’s His purpose is to bring to pass our immortality and Eternal life. I may have turned away for a season because I was numb to things of the spirit but when I turned back to Him and let Him in again, He and earthly angels carried me through all the hard. A life of knowing my Savior’s love is far better than any of those temporary dreams I might have had for myself."
